Dear all,

We are happy to announce (also in this forum), the release of McXtrace
version 1.0! 

You may get the installer packages from http://download.mcxtrace.org.
Currently a source tarball is provided for Unix and GNU/Linux, and a
Windows installer. We have so far tested the Windows package on XP SP3
(32 bit) and Windows 7 SP1 (64 bit) and it works out of the box.

On Windows 7, plotting is sluggish. If this is your platform you may
prefer another option for plotting.

Mac OSX packages and debian packages are next in the pipeline to be
published, and will be released as soon as the testing team are
done with them.

Further information and updates may be had from the project website/wiki
http://www.mcxtrace.org. In particular, platform specific notes may

As always any reports on bugs, problems as well successes are most
