I'm performing a simple Bragg diffraction experiment and then simulating it within McXtrace. When I try and run my file, the black mxgui. window gives me an error message along the lines of "cannot have more than one instrument within the same file". Any advice or assitance on the matter would be greatly appreciated. In any case it's great to hear you're working with McXtrace. I'll be happy to help but in order to do so - I'm going to need a bit more information: - Is your .instr file in directory which contains spaces? This is the most common cause for these kinds of errors. if that's not the case we'll start debugging - On which platform are you running? - What does your PATH variable contain? - Could you send me whatever output you get in from the run window. If on windows this is also the black command prompt window that opens in the background, in addition to what gets written in the log area in the mxgui run window. Apologies for asking you to collect this info - it's just otherwise very difficult to figure out what is really going on. cheers Erik On Tue, 2013-03-12 at 13:08 +0000, Birchall, Callum James (UG) wrote: > Hi, > > I'm a student at Salford University currently studying 2nd year > Physics. > > I'm performing a simple Bragg diffraction experiment and then > simulating it within McXtrace.
