I shall have to guess a few things however. I am not sure the error really is perl-related. Notice how in the middle of your 2nd screenshot the error reported is Tk::Error##: mxrun.pl: "Could not run simulation...". This sugeest that the perl layers is trying (but failing) to catch the underlying error and handle it. I suppose you are working on a windows machine (from the background I'll take a wild guess at windows 8). I suppose further that you have pressed open, and then navigated to the examples directory. This will set your working directoy to be the examples directory. I'll hazard another guess that you do not have permissions to write to this directory. Instead - please try to grab an example from the X-ray site menu item and see if that doesn't run. If it does then that is probably the cause otherwise we'll have to think of something else cheers Erik On 11/10/16 13:16, Ali Kazemi wrote: > I think the problem relates to perl. > > > > _______________________________________________ > mcxtrace-users mailing list > mcxtrace-users at mcxtrace.org > http://mailman.mcxtrace.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mcxtrace-users > -- Erik Bergb?ck Knudsen, Research Engineer | DTU | morituri NEXMAP, DTU Fysik, DK-2800 Kgs. The error message is: ?Unmatched actual parameter filename for component Monitor()? - which means that the Monitor() component does not have a filename parameter. From the mxdoc documentation accessible via "Help (MxDoc)? -> "Component Library Index? you will find that the only parameters of Monitor.comp are these: xmin: Lower x bound of detector opening (m) xmax: Upper x bound of detector opening (m) ymin: Lower y bound of detector opening (m) ymax: Upper y bound of detector opening (m) xwidth: Width of detector. Overrides xmin, xmax. (m) yheight: Height of detector. Overrides ymin, ymax. (m) restore_xray: If set, the monitor does not influence the xray state (1) - Meaning: No filename. Monitor.comp just measures intensity as a scalar number, printed to the simulation terminal. If you need file-based output, please use one of the other monitors that do allow a filename.
